We are excited to let you know about three upcoming releases in January 2016, covering music as diverse as alternative folk, new classical and contemporary jazz. These are:

Clemens Christian Poetzsch - PEOPLE & PLACES - This solo piano album has been recorded on the now famous Fazioli piano at Fieldgate studios, previously graced by Liam Noble and Kit Downes for their recent solo records. The music crosses the genre barriers from new classical and cinematic influences to free improvisation and polyrhythmic experiments.

Snowpoet - SNOWPOET - a duo set to take the alternative music world by storm, Chris Hyson and Lauren Kinsella have brought in an array of exceptional musicians to complement their song-writing and improvisational skills to create an album at once beautiful, dark, haunting and timeless.

Robert Menzel - ALCHEMY - his sound has been described as "echoing Joe Lovano", and he does take his tenor sax to its full potential, with an exceptional debut quartet album that is whimsical, dark, soaring, thoughtful and intimate. The music spans Menzel's own expressive compositions and his takes on the world's worst pop music...

All albums will be available via this webite, Bandcamp, and our distributors, Harmonia Mundi.

We are delighted to announce the signing of leading saxophonist Michael Chillingworth. He will be releasing his debut album with his septet in April 2016 on Two Rivers Records.

"Really special ... Very complicated but full of wit and melody too. Clever Sod." Liam Noble

“Chillingworth is emblematic of this generation of jazz musician: a sculptor and architect with a keen sense of form, flow, colour and texture”

“lyrical and imaginative alto saxophonist Mike Chillingworth, with a gorgeous sound and sense of line.. His 'out' playing was controlled, reminiscent in many ways of the very best of Art Pepper.” London Jazz News

“Chillingworth, an admirer of Mark Turner who shares the American's ability to generate intensity without hectoring.”

John Fordham, Guardian

Mike Chillingworth has been active on the London jazz scene for over a decade and has a formidable reputation as a saxophonist and improviser. His CV is impressive, working with many of the leading figures in British and European jazz including Kit Downes, Jim Hart, Stan Sulzmann, Jeff Williams, Gareth Lockrane, James Maddren, Ivo Neame, Julian Siegel, John Taylor, Calum Gourlay, Tom Farmer and Ant Law. He has performed throughout the UK and abroad with many groups, including Round Trip, Troykestra, Stan Sulzmann's Neon Orchestra, Ant Law Quintet, James Maddren Quartet, Jack Davies Big Band, Andrea DiBiase Oltremare Quartet, Rick Simpson's Klammer, Noise Union and Dan Nichols' Money Jungle and has featured on numerous recordings.

He has also formed many groups as a leader in this time as vehicles for his writing. Despite all this activity it is not until now that he has lead a project which he felt was worthy of recording. This septet is the culmination of all that experience as a side-man and all those experiments with different line-ups and different approaches to composition.

It's a line-up which allows for structured and disciplined fully composed music, as well as real risk-taking improvisation, comprised as it is of seven of the UK's most exciting and fearless improvisers - Tom Challenger, Josh Arcoleo, George Crowley, Lewis Wright, Sam Lasserson and Jon Scott. The unusual line up of four reeds, vibraphone, bass and drums gives the group a distinctive and unique sound, and the music, inspired by such topics as arcade gaming, social media anxiety and Korean confectionary, is full of humour, colour and personality.
